Field Work in Labrador Park ____________________________________________________ Hah. I'm at home now. Just came back home and bath before going back to office. I woke up this morning at 6 to reach Labrador Park at 640. We have to get there before the tide rises.
We are supposed to be there to do inter-tidal sea grass analysis. I used to think sea grass is the same as seaweed. But I am wrong. Cuifen taught me that seagrass is grass and seaweed is algae. I was wearing my blue canvas shoes, walking around at the shoreline, taking pictures. At the end of the trip, my shoes are wet and covered with clay. Today I also learnt to differentiate between sand and silt. Those sticky, hard consolidated ones are silts. Haha. The most interesting part of the trip is on our way back, back to the gate. WM found some hermit crabs! I have never seen hermit crab before, only in textbook though. I became very excited, cos never see before. I did not remember learning the natural habitat of hermit crab is by the sea. The crab is very soft. When it's hiding in its shell, with legs out, it looks like spider. Haha. I stared intently on the hermit crab while WM played cum tortured it. haha. It reminds me of those old kiddish days where my brother was playing spider or grasshopper, I just squatted beside him at stare intently on the living thing. Below are some of the pictures I took today. Maybe I'll get the rest from Cuifen and post it up.
