Baby's funny phobia
____________________________________________________

"Our toddler is terrified of pot holders, especially these two blue ones. Each time I try to take something hot out of the oven, I have to distract our son so he won't see the 'blue monsters.'" -- Faith, Connecticut

"Our 2-year-old daughter hates bubbles. My husband discovered this a year ago when he blew a bubble with his gum. She immediately became hysterical. Now, more than a year later, she's still leery of gum chewers." -- Melissa, Iowa

"One day while walking with my son, I noticed a beautiful butterfly. When I eagerly pointed it out to him, he started screaming and immediately ran to hide. I couldn't believe it. My little boy was afraid of butterflies. I laughed so hard, I had tears in my eyes!" -- Jaime, Florida

"My 10-month-old is terrified of pine trees. Any time he sees one, he'll cling to me or whoever is carrying him and bury his little face to cry." -- Melizza, Illinois

"Our toddler is afraid of aluminum foil and the sound it makes when I crumple it up to throw it away. Whenever he sees it in our kitchen, he makes a pout, which quickly turns into a wail!" -- Sara, New Jersey

"Our baby is scared of our door stopper. Anytime he sees it, he cries so hard he can hardly catch his breath. Now he's carefully crafted his daily crawling path to avoid this scary spot." -- Susan, Florida

"My 1-year-old is afraid of his grandmother's old-fashioned rotary telephone. Whenever we visit her and her phone rings, he cries and tries to run away. Though he gets very upset, it's actually pretty comical." -- Kristyle, Arkansas

"My daughter is deathly afraid of our vacuum cleaner. As soon as I turn it on, she gets a fearful look in her eyes and slowly moves away from it. However, once the vacuum has been turned off, she'll walk around it, examining every inch. She's fearless as long as it's silent." -- Dee, Texas

____________________________________________________

I was searching my blog using blogger today, cos I din want to type on my address bar. And I was very surprise. My blog was listed on a share market!

http://www.blogshares.com/blogs.php?blog=http://velvetspice.blogspot.com%2F

Too bad, it just don't worth that much.

But it still surprises me. How did they evalutate my blog? How did they find out of my incoming and outgoing links? Do they track me?

This is weird, but should I push my value higher? Should I apply what I learn in school. Hah. I went to check xiaxue's blog. Her blog's evaluation is very high.

Mmm. Interesting.

Of cows and politics
____________________________________________________

ARISTOCRATISM: You have two cows. You sell both and buy one really big cow - with a pedigree.

BUREAUCRACY: You have two cows. To register them, you fill in 17 forms in triplicate and don't have time to milk them.

CAPITALISM: You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.

CONSERVATIVISM: You have two cows. You freeze the milk and embalm the cows.

COMMUNISM, IDEALIZED: You have two cows. The government takes them both and provides you with milk.

COMMUNISM, REALITY: You share two cows with your neighbors. You and your neighbors bicker about who has the most "ability" and who has the most "need". Meanwhile, no one works, no one gets any milk, and the cows drop dead of starvation.

DEMOCRACY: You have two cows. A vote is held, and the cows win.

DEMOCRACY, SINGAPEOREAN: You have two cows. The government takes both and shoots you.

DICTATORSHIP, IDEALIZED: You have two cows. The government orders you to drink their milk.

DICTATORSHIP, REALITY: You have two cows. The government orders you to shoot them.

EDUCATIONALISM: You have two cows. You pay for them to go to university. They come home as philosophy graduates and want to debate "The Morality Of Milk In A Cross-Species Society". Giving milk is now beneath their station in life anyway.

ENVIRONMENTALISM: You have two cows. The government bans you from milking or killing them.

FASCISM: You have two cows. The government takes both, hires you to take care of them, and sells you the milk.

FEUDALISM: You have two cows. Your lord takes some of the milk.

FEMINISM: You have two cows. They get married and adopt a veal calf.

INDUSTRIALISM: You have two cows. You dissect them both and figure out how to build a milk-factory instead.

LIBERTARIANISM: Go away. What I do with my cows is none of your business.

MARXISM-LENINISM: The proletarian cows unite and overthrow the bourgeoisie cowherds. The egalitarian democratic cow revolutionary state with the cow party as vanguard disintegrate over time. Marx choked on a veggie-burger before he could explain what happens to the use-value, exchange-value and sign-value of bovine leather.

MILITARIANISM: You have two cows. The government takes both and drafts you.

MONARCHY: You have two cows. You give some milk to the King/Queen.

NAZISM: You have two cows. The government takes both and then shoots you.

SOCIALISM: You have two cows. The government takes one of them and gives it to your neighbor.

TALIBANISM: You have two cows. At first, the government makes them wear burkas, but later shoots them because "they are Hindu religious symbols."

TOTATITARIANISM: You have two cows. The government takes them and denies they ever existed. Milk is banned.

UTOPIANISM: You have two cows. Mother Nature zaps the cows, turning their udders into eternal milk-shake dispensers.

BLESSING or Not?
____________________________________________________

Today I went for interview, for a project of web-designing. This is the first time I am going to do it commercially. When I was on my way home from that office, I was thinking if it is a blessing? Probably God knew that I am not going to give up on designing, hence he gave me this chance. Maybe He pampers me and knows where my passion lies, that's why he provided this opportunity.

Then I start getting upset. Because I haven gotten my VIP yet!! So sad. What I really needed now is a VIP!! All the companies had yet to reply me. This is so sad... ): . . Maybe it ain't a blessing after all.

I was at my bus stop waiting for bus, I saw a fat girl throwing tantrum at her boyfriend. She not only fat, but ugly. She looks fatter and uglier than SandyL. I am not against fat girls or ugly girls or fat and ugly girls. You guys should know that when I say fat, it's really fat and ugly is really ugly. I was disgusted by her action, or the whole package. The way she throw tantrum is gross, in the sense that she so fat and ugly, she can attitude her boyfriend. It's not whinny kind, but attitude. But her bf is still so loving towards her. I felt that she's so blessed, while her boyfriend, err ~~hum ~~~.... BTW her bf is alright looking.

Which reminds me what happen a few days ago.

I met my first major crush. He spoke to me, we had small talk. This is the longest talk we had in 4 years. We had became somewhat like hi-bye friends for the last 2 years, cos I see him in school mah. He felt so different. So different from last time. He had became gentle. Very gentle. He is the most gentle guy I had met. He is more gentle than Elliot (MR nice guy in CE), and even Kevin Chia Ting Feng (but Kevin's gentleness makes me want to snap him). His gentleness is really gentle and my feelings start to waver again. I believed I had gotten over him, from the first few times I saw him in NUS, and that was years ago. Now heart starts to flutter again. He is very different from last time. All his characteristic which I used to like are no longer there. Those are the characteristic that made me got over him. Those are the ones that convince me he is not the one. Now that he has changed, changed to the caring sort that I like. Why is this happening? Is this a blessing? I guess I would feel something. After all, he's my first major crush that lasted for soo sooo many years. But I won't be seeing him around in school, I dun think the crush will relight too. ;). Blessing or NOT?

Urban Styling tips for guys
____________________________________________________

(Taken from ST Urban March 16, 2006)

David Gan, 40

1) Always carry an It bag. It doesn't matter if your outfit is cheap, a stylist bag will top off your look.

2) A good, preferably expensive, watch is very important. It makes you look smart and earns you respect.

3) Coordinate your outfit subtly. Never dress top to toe in Prada or Hermes, for example; or worse, dress in one color from top to bottom.

4) Don't be a label whore. Don't put everything ecpensive on your body just to impress. You will end up looking silly.

5) Straight man shouldn't be afraid to dress well. And please, don't wear your gym shorts in Orchard Road. It's really unsightly.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Actually I would like to highlight David Gan's first tip. And the bag in the photo seemed to be a bag I saw in Far East and Cineleisure for Girls. Those bling bling woven bag!! Those we always see in school!!

What a tip for GUYS! hah.

Shopping in School
____________________________________________________

I've been shopping in school once again. I think NUS Bazaar always have to deals to grab. Last year we had 80% off Miss Sixty Jeans and Isetan Sale. Today, we have Vanity Fair presented by BizComm. It's actually Tangs sale. There are lotsa cheap perfumes, but there's only 3 brands - Aramis, DKYN and Tommy Hilfiger. The rest are all cosmetics - Clinque and Stila. The products are dirt cheap. But I still spend a lot in the end. Hehe.

Below are the products I bought.

= Tommy Girl =
yeah yeah, I finally got this, after years of saying I want to get it.
Price = S$20.00

= Clinque Foundation =
very smooth. It's liquid foundation, but after application, it's just like powder. Amazing, just like magic. It blends very nicely too.
Price = S$15.00

= Stila Push-up Blusher =
wanted to get blusher for awhile, but never did get it. I like the stila one since it first came out. The blusher is not powder-form, but a stick. Easy to apply, very natural too
Price = S$22.00

= Stila eye Glaze =
very nice to use!! nice color too. I bought amber one. iris and green ones are nice too!!
Price = S$18.00

= Stila Lip Glaze =
Peach-Flavoured, hehe. I like peach.
Price = S$14.00

After buying all these, I'm totally broke for the month. haizz. I know I deserved it. Hah. Initially I never intended to spend so much. But I did...
